Starting in September on ABC the name ABC Sports is being replaced by the ESPN brand. Instead of ABC Sports the new name is ESPN On ABC and the former brand that began in the 60’s on such shows as Wide World Of Sports and Monday Night Football will pass in to the history books. From a business point of view it makes sense for all there cable and broadcast sports to be under one brand.
