The new English language news service from “Al Jazeera” starts broadcasting today. The controversial Middle East broadcaster starts service although without coverage from one major cable or satellite company in the United States though. Variety reported on Monday that talks with Comcast for carriage had broken down. Outside the United States things have been going better for the fledgling network and it will be available in 80 million homes. Im sure over time they will work out deals in the US but im sure no major company wants to be the first to announce carriage of the network because of the anti American tone on the original Arab service.
