American Idol returns in January 2015 for the 14th season of the music talent show which for years was a ratings blockbuster for FOX. The ratings may have slipped from its peak but still millions look forward to its return soon after every new year. The fact FOX’s other reality talent show The X Factor was cancelled could be a boost for American Idol but we will have to wait for January to find out.
