January 16th 2023: CNN has announced that its moving out of its longtime downtown Atlanta home by the end of the year. The CNN Center used to be the global headquarters of the companies networks but now the cable channels weekday anchors are already broadcasting from New York or Washington.
The last parts of CNN still in the CNN Center are CNN International and as well as CNN Digital but by years end they will be gone. Both of the departments are moving to the Techwood Turner Broadcasting campus in Midtown Atlanta.
No plans have been announced what is to happen to the CNN Center which was purchased by $164 million in 2021 to two Florida real estate firm. Although a revamp and make over of the building would be excepted after the main tenant CNN leaves the building.
