NBC’s Peacock streaming service has released a trailer for its March movies and, television shows. The trailer also shows the new programming from the WWE after it announced that the WWE Network was closing down and, the programming reverting to the Peacock streaming service.
The deal with NBC and the WWE also means the companies pay per views will appear on the service including the Fastlane event on March 21st.
In many ways the WWE Network was a pioneer streaming service but in a market now crowded with huge players it makes sense for WWE to show its content on Peacock instead of getting lost in the number of streaming services.
There is only so many of these services that people are going to pay for and, that’s likely to be the ones that have the largest selection of content. The Peacock service has a big mixture of new and, old content the big issue with all these services is the new original content could get buried with the flood of old sitcoms and shows now available everywhere.
In the past you would put on a new show at a certain time every week and people would tune in to watch it but now with on demand you could spent millions on a new show but then its gets buried as people watch the Office or Friends.
in some ways the television business has become like the movie industry where people will have to rely on trailers for the shows or word of mouth, as things return to more normal this year it will be interesting to see who the winners are.
