Review: Fast Foodies On Tru TV

Fast Foodies Logo

I recently watched Fast Foodies a food competition on Tru TV featuring three award winning celebrity chefs who recreate classic fast food items. The show features Jeremy Ford and Kristin Kish both winners of Bravo’s Top Chef as well as Justin Sutherland a winner on Food Networks Iron Chef who compete against each other each week with a different celebrity guest.

The guest for the first episode is Joel Mc Hale who many might know from Community on NBC but i remember him from The Soup long ago on the E Network. Each weeks guests interact with the celebrity chefs which is a big part of the show so my guess is some weeks will be better than others depending on how funny or entertaining the guess is.

Jeremy Ford And Justin Sutherland

Each week there is two rounds where the celebrity chefs compete against each other the first round they eat a famous fast food item and then try to duplicate it exactly, then in the second round they put there own spin on the famous item. The first round isn’t as easy as it sounds but these are top chefs so they should be able to get close in the second round their dishes will will look nothing like the original but have the same flavor profile.

Kristin Kish

The first weeks fast food item is Portillo’s Hot Dog a famous Chicago hot dog restaurant that has become a chain with locations around the country of their premium hot dogs. The challenge is to create their signature Chicago style dog and, after tasting the hot dog with the celebrity they set about trying to duplicate it.

This show is fun and takes itself less seriously than some cooking shows, i will definitely watch again so look about for more upcoming reviews of this show.
