The news recently concerning The Simpsons on FOX has been about the longtime voice of twenty or so of the characters Harry Shearer leaving the show. The discussion in the press has been about replacing him or even in some places canceling the show as his voices are such huge of the show. Well fans of Homer, Bart and the rest of the family don’t need to worry as FOX have announced they are renewing the longest running scripted television show for seasons 27 and 28. The show which started as a series of crudely drawn animated skits in the Tracy Ullman Show has won 31 Emmy Awards, an Academy Award for a theatrical short as well as being the first animated show to win a Peabody Award among its many other awards during its groundbreaking run. It’s amazing that a show that has been on for so many years with reruns of old shows on constantly still is one of the highest rated shows on television a tribute to the shows voice actors, creators and writers with no end in sight for the perennial favorite. After the end of the 28th season the show will have produced an amazing 625 episodes  over its long run. I wouldn’t bet against the Simpsons being renewed once again and hitting the 30 year mark another huge milestone for a show that has broken so many records.
